Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Angela Alsobrooks, the Y, & Darkness to Light are coming together to prevent child sexual abuse. We learned that a staggering 1-4 girls & 1-6 boys suffer sexual abuse before they turn 18. In 90% of the cases, the child knows who there abuser is.
We resolve that this cycle must stop. Our goal is to educate 43,000-yes, thousand, adults in Prince George's county by 2017. That's 5% of the population empowered to make a difference. Angie Reese-Hawkins said it best: "This is not a coach, school, child, family probably-this is a community issue, something we all need to come together & stop."
