The Place to Be In U Street is Just Months Away from Opening!
YMCA Anthony Bowen, the first African American Y in the world, is just months away from re-opening to the community. And oh how we’ve missed you! In December 2012, our friends and neighbors will be reintroduced to a historic landmark that has inspired hope and health for 160 years. The eclectic, cultural and vibrant U Street corridor has a new staple at 14th & W Streets, NW.
There’ll be programs to pique any interest at any age. State-of-the-art cardio and strength equipment. Three wellness studios – mind/body, active and cycling – for our traditional innovative programs. A heated six-lane pool for lap swimming, swim lessons and aquatics programs. Weekly events on our rooftop terrace – talent show anyone? A two-story (yes, two!) rock climbing wall. A Wi-Fi café for grabbing a healthy snack, unwinding by the fireplace, or sharing a laugh with friends. Unrivaled childcare and camp programs.
YMCA Anthony Bowen isn’t just a place to work out or drop off your kids; it’s a home away from home.
